If you are a Van Damme fan, this film is more than suitable for you! You get two Van Dammes actually, and the action is great! The same rough style has put a good print on the movie, and Van Damme is still young and athletic, so you will see some awsome kicks and stunts. One of the actors he is playing against is Bolo Yeung; the bad guy from Bloodsport, so this calls for a reunion! His excellent 360 leaps are also to be seen in the movie, something that will give you a "kick", and you will probably be so affected by the martial arts, that you too will start kicking and screaming afterwards. Just don't watch the movie with someone you like, you might knock them down ... PANKB Pictures rules!

I decided to order this DVD as the advertisement said its the original dvdv with the rare bonus features and I received the DVD today and its the wrong dvd!!-its the new re-issue without any bonus features..the photos made out its the original DVD released years ago when in fact its NOT the original DVD at all.(I have been told the original DVD is now rare and hard to find)I have sent my DVD back and requested a full refund as its not what it makes out it is.(I was well dispointed when I opened the packaging)I already own the USA REGION 1 DVD import of double impact but wanted the UK version as it had a bonus feature of making of featurette..I guess I will have to try and find the rare 'original version' in a 2nd hand shop one day as amazon are NOT selling it..so,buyers BEWARE!!-this DVD is a re-issue.(and not the original double impact as it states it is)

Double Impact is the first in a few films where Van Damme plays a twin. This has something to do with them finding out that each other exists, using the power of the rugged ones girlfriend identifying black silk underwear.

One wears pink, the other wears black, so thats how you can tell them apart. when they find out that they are brothers, Geoffrey Lewis informs them that their parents where killed by Chong-Li, and the guy who worked with there father.

It's very confusing at times, but that doesn't stop it from being very entertaining. This is the first movie that struck big for Van Damme across the pond, and it has good production values and some very good set pieces.

The narrative is just okay, and for once the editing doesn't show Van Damme doing loads of kicks. he does a few roundhouses against Bolo though, and it is quite graphic in places.

it's a forgettable film for people who are really bothered about action movies, but for Van Damme fans, it was the beginning of a cinematic era that was cut short due to some bad reviews and box office.

This is Van Damme's second best movie in my opinion. What more could you seriously want from a Van Damme film? This has it all, violence, romance and plenty of non-stop action. It's about two twin brothers who exact revenge on the murder of their parents.

It was more violent than I anticipated but I hope more movies are made like this!

I remember in my school days, Van Damme was one of the favourites among the lads. Van Damme has given us Great movies in the past. Kickboxer, Bloodsport and Hard Target are some of His Finest Movies. I'm my opinion, Double Impact is better then the mentioned movies in terms of Storyline. Double Impact has great fight scenes including Van Damme against Bolo Yeung, also in Bloodsport. It has Plenty of violence, packed with good laughs. This was Van Dammes opportunity to act apart from fighting all the time. Van Damme does a decent job playing two separate characters Alex and Chad. It has a impressive storyline about 2 twin brothers separated at birth, who link up when their older, to take revenge on the Gang that killed their parents. This is a great entertaining movie.

If your the kind of person who sees a film as so bad that it is good, then you will enjoy this action packed film. Featuring the Muscles from Brussels, Van Damme brings out all the spinning kicks he can. Shame there is no mullet.

Not nearly as entertaining as A.W.O.L, Maximum Risk and The Expendables 2 etc, one of those films that need no explanation - once that front DVD cover has been seen.

There's little to recommend this, unless one wants to have a movie in the background whilst doing the chores or if one wants to look at a 'no brainer' after the new year has been welcomed in after the "pomp and circumstance" has ended during the early hours.

It has it's admirers, but I'm not one of them, as the story has been told in this way so many times before!.
