This film with make you cringe in places but is actually very funny and the effects are ok for the 80's (although they aren't really what the film is about).

The storyline follows a nerdy scientist single father who accidentally attacks another world and the agent sent to reverse the effect ends up falling for him and he for her.

The humour in the film is silly but makes you laugh and I remember whatching this as a kid and dibbling over Kim Bassinger!

Look out for Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green going on a date (later to be Willow and Oz in Buffy).

An astronomer, Dan Aykroyd as Steve Mills, by way of a fluke, sends a message out of the galaxy. This causes a gravitational instability on that quadrant. An alien embassary, Kim Basinger as Celeste Martin, is sent to find and correct the problem. She is accompanied by Bag (Ann Prenttiss) who is ready to destroy anyone that gets in the way.

There are lots of misunderstandings and sight gages. However the Alien learns of love and people (including Jimmy Durante). This movie is just too jam-packed with fun to describe. You will have to see it again and again to pick up the parts that went by too fast.

Harmless nonsense, but fun.

The plot about an Alien living in disguise on Earth, getting used to the strange ways of the humans, who do not suspect the deadly peril they face from Outer Space, is not meant to be taken too seriously.

This is an enjoyable comedy featuring sweet little Alysson Hannigan as the adolescent daughter who suspects her Stepmother is an Alien.

This was made a few years before Alysson H went on to be wonderful as Willow in especially the first 3 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

It is rather dated but the stepmother is delightful and there are some entertaining moments, especially if you like to relive the eighties.

This DVD is a must for all Kim Basinger fan, her performance is Stepmother is only surpassed when she played Vicky....... in Batman. For non Basinger fans (Why?!?) there is sitll enough in the film to justify it's purchase, aliens, talking handbags, a clever storyline you will keep coming back for more. p.s For all Basinger fans I also recommend Blind Date. (Just don't let your friends borrow it)

Another Stinker For Basinger (She had a lot of those in the 80's) the humour is so not funyy that its not funny and bits are just plain Crindgeworthy.
