5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely funny, there is no better when it comes to comedy!, 22 Sept. 2000

This review is from: Men Behaving Badly - Series 2 BBC [1992] [DVD] (DVD)
The entire DVD is interactive which maximises it's usability. Quizzes allow you to test your knowledge on each episode, and with each quiz answered correctly you get to see clips of them all making a mess of their scripts. The episodes start from when Gary and Tony meet, to when Gary gets locked in a lift with Debra. Funny from start to finish and is an absolute classic. An essential buy for any Men Behaving Badly fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have video, 11 May 2003
By A Customer
After the ordinary performances by all concerned in the first series, this is the video which really kicks off the MBB phenomenon. Even the suspense as you await Tony's (Neil Morrissey's) entrance is brilliant.... you know he is the new tenant in Gary's flat, but you don't know when he is going to appear, and when he does, it completes the team. Although I liked Harry Enfield's first ever episode in Series One, he seemed to go downhill quickly in the following episodes, and it is only when Series Two gets going that you can see the appeal of the whole team. I also believe that you are watching the careers of four people (and supporting cast) blossoming in front of you as they get to grips with the plots and weave some magic into Simon Nye's best writing ever (he hasn't done this level of work before or since, in my opinion). There is always an element of farce as Gary (Martin Clunes) lies his way into tricky situations, only to be outdone by Tony (Neil Morrissey)who can tell even bigger lies and get into more trouble. By the end of this series, you can understand the complexities of all the characters and go on to enjoy all the other videos in the set. (Can't wait for the home made sauna episode again.. series 5, I think) Hope this helps you enjoy the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tony's First Season, 23 Jan. 2013

This review is from: Men Behaving Badly - Series 2 BBC [1992] [DVD] (DVD)
Men Behaving Badly really needed a shake up, it wasn't that popular, so the cast had to have a change. They wrote Dermot out of it, and brought in Tony; a record sales man who really was a joker. He would go on to be Gary's best mate, and the bane of Debs' life.

There are some great moments in this; like the episode where Tony gets a van and it breaks down in the shopping centre, the one where Gary sprays a 12" record and the one where Tony's mates come to stay, which annoys Gary no end.

This is one of the better seasons, as it's funny and the start of a new friendship. Neil fits in nicely with the cast, and his chasing of Debs is comical at the best of times. The banter between Gary and Tony is amusing though I'm not sure many men share their conversations up and down this country. Again, Caroline Quentin does a great job as mithered Dorothy, though at one point we did think that she was going to leave.

This DVD is OK, though why they can't have a Play All on the main menu is beyond me. The quiz is a great extra and makes you work to see bloopers, which is fun. Otherwise this is quite bare, no commentaries or extra documentaries about the UK's favourite lads show.

Could do better DVD wise, otherwise this is a classic show.

Brilliant! Pure lad comedy, birds, booze, jokes & laughter all the way through, especially the episode where Debs is selling her flat & Tony pretends to be a beer short of a four pack & Gary pretends to be Welsh to put potential buyers off!!! Truly fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars People Behaving Irritatingly, 11 Nov. 2013
This review is from: Men Behaving Badly - Series 2 BBC [1992] [DVD] (DVD)
This comedy series is all about two mates, Gary and Tony who share a two bedroom home. They are grown men who act like a couple of drunk two year olds, who spend their time either drinking beer at the local Pub, or at home having all MALE conversations on the couch (while drinking beer).
