After enjoying the happy fun and frolics of the first DVD(highly recommended!), imagine my delight when a second DVD was released! As usual, Chorlton is in his usual slow-witted, cheery self, irradiating happiness to Wheelie World without knowing it! Also there is Fenella, the evil witch (or, according to Chorlton, the "little ol' lady!") who is having a hard time battling against this happy dragon. The stories and the narration are top class, which ensures that any lover of cult kid's tv will burst with happiness while watching this brilliant DVD. Buy it NOW!
I couldn't believe the memories that flooded back when I watched the first series again - I rememberd that when I was a child I was actually afraid of the 'geordie' witch! and it gave me the spooks even now! hehe!Definatley my fave character though! The great Chorlton and his "by eck!", "ekky thump!" and "'ello little old lady!" Excellent - I think children all over should view this instead of the stupid suchlike of the Tellitubbies and the Teeny Weenies! 10 out of 10! Even if you can't remember it - buy and and I am sure you will remember it! This is a classic and wonderful to watch!!! =)
After years of a wait, Pearson TV have released the first 5 episode on video. They have been digitally remastered and look fantastic. The very first episode was the main highlight of the video for me as somehow I had missed it all of the years ago. I recommend the video (and volume 2) to anyone who remembers Chorlton from their childhood. Even if you don't, check out the video and see what you have missed ! Big kids at heart rule !
This is an absolutley gorgeous blast from the past, i vaguely remebered it but nobody else did so when i saw the video i bought it straight away. I put the video on and i was an anxious 3 year old again, i couldn't wait to see Fenella (she used to scare me to death)and the spikers definatly the best witch ever. This series should definatly make a comeback on TV and for ages i was singing the theme tune...now we just need Animal Kwackers (anybody remember...Rory Rory tell us a story)
An extended story (with two others from the series)with the Welsh Witch (Fenella) and her cronies. The Kids will love it and the gags are aimed at the parents (e.g. Chorlton asking the Baddie with a deep baritone voice "Do you do Working mens' Clubs?") I remember getting up early on Boxing Day morning to see it when this was first shown on TV. It has lost none of the magic! I have been waiting for this for a long time and my kids love it too!
Chorlton and the Wheelies is one of those shows that many people can remember loving as a child, but few can remember the details. Having seen this, I can safely say my memory wasn't playing tricks on me. The storylines are inventive and funny and I would recomend this to anyone who has vague menories of the original, and even those who haven't.
Its been years since I last watched Chorlton And The Wheelies, and the memories all came flooding back within minutes of watching this video. I came back from a bad day at work, with the mother of all grimaces on my face, and after the fifth episode I was grinning like a Cheshire cat. Chorlton... promotes good feelings and well being among kids (and big kids like me) - after all Fenella doesn't look that evil does she? - and refuses to patronise (apart from the characters' accents!). Well worth the money and I can't wait till the next video comes out!
I was a Seventies Child - although born in the Summer of 1969, much of my life was in the 70's. Chorlton was my all time favourite programme. The 'Big Spotty Lump' returns in this video form. It was originally bought for my Fathers 73rd Birthday in November ( we are both fans and Kids at heart !!!), i ended up watching it myself before wrapping it up !!! Silly stories, silly dragons, silly Welsh Witches who pop up around everywhere, this grips even my three year old daughter and my 6 year old twins neices. NOSTALGIA ??? GREAT STUFF !!!!!
I have been waiting for a Chorlton and the Wheelied video for over 10 years, so when I bought this, I was a bit apprehensive in case it didn't match up to my expectations. Fortunately, I wasn't disapointed. From Chorlton's birth in the first episode, to Fenella's defeat in the final this is non stop fun. I have to stop myself saying "Bye bye little lady" whenever someone leaves the room. Fantastic, I hope they release many more
