Good cure for insomnia, it's that boring.
on 24 April 2015
One of the most boring films I have ever seen. I an Avid Horror fan, I have around 400-500 horror movies, I have seen well over a thousand. I am a big fan of the found footage genre too, including Blair Witch. I didn't feel this movie was remotely tense, nor did I find it entertaining, creepy, nothing. I only felt boredom. I watched it alone, in the dark. Nearly fell asleep several times. On a couple of scenes I actually watched it on Fast Forward because it was saying the same thing over and over again.
This movie is shot like a documentary, interviews, some of the actual found footage. I actually guessed the ending fairly early on, I wasn't surprised, nor shocked. It was quite obvious at one point. There are a lot of occasions where particular bits of footage (which were boring on the first viewing) were repeated over, and over, and over, and over... Interviews with people that basically say the same thing. This woman is going to reconstruct this tape, she needs to tell the computer how to do it. This woman is going to reconstruct this tape, the computer doesn't automatically know how to do it, she has to guide it through.... The murder suspect mau have a violent streak, he pushed a this guy, the same bit of clip is replayed so often it actually made me want to stop watching altogether. I waited for something exciting to happen for the whole film, nothing happened. Except for the "plot twist" which was predictable, not original, and, unremarkable.
Blair Witch Project was a far superior film, in my opinion.
I am actually going to go and have a nap, the movie bored me that much.
The Last Broadcast would be suitable as a cure for insomnia, other than that, I would not recommend.
