4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Worth A Look
This film combines modern filmmaking techniques only previously used by the likes of Quentin Tarantino. True it is similar to Tarantino's 1994 film 'Pulp Fiction', yet the only comparison being the "short story" method employed in both, and the razor sharp characters. I watched this film without prior knowledge, and admittedly was sceptical, and was pleasantly...

This film is ok although its still a little cheesy and hard to believe in places. It can pass the time well enough due to its fun and the way it portrays 3 different experiences of the same night - which is quite interesting. There is no real gripping conversation in the film, neither is there any intellect on display or insight, however, I think this is a cut version...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Youngest Swingers in Town, 4 April 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Go [DVD] [1999] (DVD)
Expecting a hefty soundtrack I felt that DVD was the only way to view this film at home and, with three music videos amongst the disc's special features, I believe it was the right choice (though I had hoped Fat Boy Slim's contribution would be one of the three!). The film itself was enjoyable - chuckles within were occasionally interrupted by full belly laughs. The story moved along briskly (except that it kept on going back to the beginning!), and the ending was never predictable. All the actors were excellent, perhaps the head of the undercover operation topping the bill (apologies for not remembering the actor's name) and the characters all very different. The music videos apart, the special DVD features are all pretty standard and some of the deleted scenes are quite amusing. In summary the film is not quite as funny, original and hip as Liman's previous 'Swingers' (plus it doesn't have it's own "Money" language) and it only just achieves a 4-star rating in my book - but it's certainly worth watching.

3.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, but nothing special., 16 April 2006

This is a good, engaging film about youth-, drug- and rave-culture in which we see three different stories that overlap each other slightly and effect each other in unexpected ways. Sound, entertaining stuff, but this kind of thing's just been done much better in films like 21 Grams or Pulp Fiction. The film's main redeeming feature is probably the presence of the irrepressibly cute Katie Holmes, who's always worth watching...

4.0 out of 5 stars Rag Bag ensembles conjours up some Magic, 30 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Go [DVD] [1999] (DVD)
The first thing you will notice about this film is its lack of star power. Only Katie Holmes stands out as recognisable face. However don't let that put you off. The delicious Sarah Polley and Britians own Desmond Askwew stand out a mile in a story of how a group of teenagers spend there weekend. It has the Pulp Fiction premise of three interlinked stories with the middle story been the pick of the bunch. Backed up by a cracking sound track this is a great example of how to attract Tarantino fans. If its Black humour, modern issues and a good story your looking for then search no longer, GO is definatly for you.

This review is from: Go [DVD] [1999] (DVD)
its amazing. "pulp fiction for the rave generation", the film is the story of three friends, cleverly intertwined and set against a background of sex, drugs and - well, raves really. An amazing soundtrack, excellent performances from an ensemble cast (most of whom you'll recognise from T.V. : elaine from ally macbeal, katie holmes from dawson's creek (doh!) and i swear the british guy wsa on grange hill...), and wonderful directing...

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good film, great extras on DVD, 16 Mar 2000

This review is from: Go [DVD] [1999] (DVD)
Interesting film, pretty solid acting all round , plus Katie Holmes is in the film, I have to honest it's the only reason I bought the DVD ,great soundtrack, however, it's a bit of a Tarantino rip-off, ideas are too similar to Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, in my opinion. Overall a worthy addition to your DVD collection, extras are great but you probably won't find yourself watching it more than a couple of times, not bad but not a classic.

i have seen this movie, liked it good enough to see it again, got the DVD. Now I only see the main menu for like 3 seconds, and I can't access any of the items, not even the movie from the menu. I have to start everything manually, not too great if you ask me. I thought DVD was out of beta...

5.0 out of 5 stars The most under rated film of the decade, 6 Sep 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Go [VHS] [1999] (VHS Tape)
This has got to be one of the best films that I have ever seen. 'Go' is a fresh, original film, that has great support from a young talented cast. It is a fast paced, witty, action film with everything falling into place perfectly in the ending

Go is the greatest, a chic mix of black comedy and intense drama - it'll have you on the edge of your seat throughout.
PLUS the soundtrack is wicked!
