begging to differ with other reviewers!

I realise I'm in a minority but I thought this film was dreadful! Firstly there didn't seem to be any of the charm of other Disney films, and the play off between characters like Mickey, Donald etc that works so well is not there - only Pete has a major role, recognisable from other Disney programmes.
Secondly there were comments and concepts that need to be explained, and whilst I appreciate teens or nearly teens would be fine, trying to explain what an electric chair is, in Britain, is quite a challenge to 5 and 6 year olds!
Thirdly there were moments it became a Tim Burton film, when, for example, a hearse appears and the coffin opens, and the corpse sings and dances!
Fourthly most the film was Max being cross with his dad, or his dad feeling bad, and whilst the end brings them together, nevertheless most of the film was more like a soap opera, in terms of the interplay, and rather than feel good I felt depressed.
I'm truly sorry to be giving this film a bad review, I generally enjoy Disney's films but alas not this one.
