be honest. can you live your life without a salad spinner? you probably can. but should you? no.

so if you're going to get one then this is the one for you. the central button you just push down and it spins your bits inside like there's no tomorrow. no longer do you have to contend with a rotating handle like on old-fashioned salad spinners that tend to fly...

2.0 out of 5 stars big disappointment
Having read such positive reviews, I decided to buy the spinner, but unfortunately my experience wasn't positive at all. The spinner broke after 3 months of using - the whole pushy system suddenly fell apart to my and my boyfriend's huge astonishment, as we didn't do anything to it that could cause a damage! The previous spinner, which was a completely different model,...

the oxo rocks.

I've had one of these for several years and it's still going strong. I find it excellent for drying off salad leaves, spinach and herbs. It's easy to wash and you can store your washed leaves in it in the fridge until needed. I also have used it to remove rinsing water from soft fruit such as raspberries and strawberries which can get squashed with dabbing dry with a paper towel.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good 'un, 16 July 2009

It spins salad so it does what it says. It's easy to operate and seems quite robust.

The BIG PLUS for me was using it as recommended by Jamie Oliver, spin the salad and leave it in the spinner in the fridge. He said the salad would keep for days. He was right. The salad stays crisp and usable for at least 4 days.

I don't normally take much notice of Jamie Oliver, his shaker/crusher thing is absolute rubbish, but in this case he's good to follow.

The third salad spinner we have had in our household (previous two of a different make broke) so we are experienced in spinning our salad! I can't recommend this productenough. It is stable on the work surface when 'in action', spins the salad well, is easy to use, and keeps the salad fresh for days if used to store the spun leaves. Highly recommended.

My last salad spinner lated about 35 years, but thanks to my grandchildren, who have sytematically spun it to death over the last five years or so (it is their top favourite 'toy' in our house, and has spun everything from toys to little shoes), it has finally given up the ghost. I don't expect this new one to last as long, but it is a great appliance. It requires minimal effort, spins fast and effectively, takes up very little space, and is easy to clean. It also arrived promptly, and was well packaged. I especially love the little brake! I am keeping it in a very safe, high up place, well out of reach.

My wife saw this being demonstrated in a shop and immediately wanted one! It is a quality product that will last for years. Bought via Amazon at a superb price at least half of what you would have to pay here in France.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oxo salad spinner, 15 Jan 2012
This review is from: OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner (Kitchen & Home)
I bought one of these a few years ago and it was broken. I had to get a replacement as it's so useful. It's also handy for washing cabbage & spinach, gets rid of all the water, and you can use the insert as a colander. Definitely recommend this.

I've had one for years - easy to use, durable, easily washable and really does drain the salad properly. A top class salad spinner.

Our last one lasted 20 years. This one is not quite so robust but still a very good piece of kit.

A great family size salad spinner which is well made and does what it says on the tin. Not for small salad eaters unless they are rabbits!
