The music on 'Last Leaves' is pure, clear, bright and driving with energy. Malinky demonstrate that you don't need rock to go, and the celtic tradition of drive and feeling is still alive and leaping. Did you doubt it? Listen to 'The Bonnie Lass of Fyvie' and feel your hair rise. Then listen to 'Whaur do ye Lie' and 'Marriane' and understand whu Karine Polwart is already recognized as a songwriter heading for classic status. If you want to Know more about the group, look them up on the 'Stoneyport' Agency website, and find out about their extrodinary short, to date, career. The only reason I don't give them five stars is that wouldn't leave any room for manouvre. Why aren't they famous?
