5.0 out of 5 stars A great voice, great beats...musical excellence., 12 Feb. 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Passenger (Audio CD)
Tara MacLean has a fantastic voice, and while some may say she sounds similar to Sarah Mclachlan, I have to say, there's always someone who sounds like someone else - that doesn't take away their uniqueness. This album is great. The background melodies perfect, and the voice soulful, passionate, and powerful. I draw particular excellence to the track 'If I fall'. The hidden track Shakota is brilliant, and an excellent way to finish off an album that rates as one of the best relaxing sounds I have ever heard. Tara deserves far more recognition here in England than she gets.

4.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful, melodic album, 1 Sept. 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Passenger (Audio CD)
This is one of those albums that are well worth risking not knowing the artist. Tara Maclean uses influences from all over the world, Latin American to French and mixes them all together to make some really haunting melodies. Definetley recommended

4.0 out of 5 stars File next to McLachlan?, 28 Sept. 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Passenger (Audio CD)
Although Tara's album is filed above Sarah McLachlan's in many record stores she has a style of her own. Yes there are similarities with McLachlan in that both sing from the soul but Tara's lyrics and music are perhaps less bogged down in regret and sorrow. 'Jericho', 'If I Fall' and the French sung 'La Tempete' are memorable highlights. This is her debut album and I bought it in the States having only heard her hit song, it was an easy album to get into and I was pleasantly surprised. She should have a bright future ahead of her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tara MacLean - Gentle, 22 Aug. 2006
This review is from: Passenger (Audio CD)
Having discovered Tara MacLean's music on someone else's myspace profile I decided to find out a little more about what up until then an unknown artist (to me). I bought the CD and now frequently play it as really easy background music. It's also a CD that generates the most questions asking who the artist is and where friends can buy it? Worth purchasing!
