5.0 out of 5 stars Oh happy day when this came!
Like most films starring Whoopi Goldberg this film doesn't dissapoint. Whoopi as Deloris becomes an undercover nun once again - this time in order to rehabilitate an awkward, urban school. I personally think this film has more appeal to young people than the first being quite inspirational, but doesn't quite live up to the first.
However, it is still brilliant and I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Musical Sensation!
This film really is very uplifting and pleasanlty simple. With a whitty storyline and colourful characters, Sister Act 2 is a great easy-to watch film. In this sequel, Whoopi Goldberg returns to save the day, pulling a group of troubled youths together through their mutual love for music. It is the musical aspect of this film that makes it shine, with the voice of Lauryn...

However, it is still brilliant and I found it really interesting to see such famous faces as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Lauryn Hill (who steals the show) as teenagers.
On DVD the film dissapoints with no extras but both the picture quality and sound is excellent. If you liked the first film or believe in hip-hoppy religious music as restorative - buy this now!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best sequel you're likely to find, 18 Jun 2001
By A Customer
It must be said that this is the best sequel that you're gonna find. With a stunning cast, and Whoopi Goldberg returning in great comedy form, it's hard to go wrong. However unlikely the story may seem, it is very spirited, with a superb soundtrack including the impeccable voice of Lauryn Hill. And, yes, I too am a musician, but anyone can relate to the music, because it is so upbeat, and I most definately sing along as I'm sure everyone will and do.

3.0 out of 5 stars Musical Sensation!, 10 Jan 2005
This review is from: Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit [DVD] [1994] (DVD)
This film really is very uplifting and pleasanlty simple. With a whitty storyline and colourful characters, Sister Act 2 is a great easy-to watch film. In this sequel, Whoopi Goldberg returns to save the day, pulling a group of troubled youths together through their mutual love for music. It is the musical aspect of this film that makes it shine, with the voice of Lauryn Hill being most poignant. Hill's troubled character's experiences during this film also offer hope for any aspiring singers or actresses, who's dreams are suppressed as a result of their parents or freinds lack of belief in their talents.
Overall this is a great all-round film and definately worth buying!

5.0 out of 5 stars joyful joyful!, 23 Oct 2003
This review is from: Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit [DVD] [1994] (DVD)
I love this film for so many reasons. Not only do you get a high camp o.t.t opening that will take your breath away but you get a film that really knows what it is doing. Its true that you have a slice of American cheese at times but this is a film that is trully heart warming and very funny. The musical numbers are fantastic and full of energy and the acting is believable and at times suprisingly understated.Whoopi is a joy to watch so is Maggie Smith, the monks and nuns all play their parts to perfection giving off a warmth to their performance. My favorite scene is the one where Delorise gives Rita the book I dare you to watch it without having a tear in your eye!

5.0 out of 5 stars sister act 2!, 11 Aug 2003
This review is from: Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit [DVD] [1994] (DVD)
absolutely fab! at school we always watch it in music when its end of term, its somewhat of a tradition now to put on sister act 2 and dance along and sing along to the songs! Whoopi is great once again and the nuns are hilarios as ever, as are the "teens" in the movie. best songs are "joyful joyful" at the end and "ball of confusion"..... just one great film!

3.0 out of 5 stars A feel good movie, 19 Dec 2000
By A Customer
Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit may be a sequel but it is still worth watching. The impact Deloris (Whoopi Goldberg) made at the convent in Sister Act has resulted in a change of setting, as the nuns try to run a school of rowdy teenagers. When Deloris is drafted in to help, despite no previous training as a teacher, she introduces the kind of humour, fun and music that made Sister Act such a hit.
This may not be the best movie ever made, and it doesn't quite live up to the success of Sister Act, but if you need cheering up, or just feel like having a laugh, it is worth watching. This feel good movie is enhanced greatly by the music throughout.

5.0 out of 5 stars great!, 30 May 2006
This review is from: Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit [DVD] [1994] (DVD)
Whoopi Goldberg stars in one of the uplifiting movies around, even though filmed in 1993 the difference in years is not made apparent due to the insirational and uplifing music and acting throughout the movies. Whoopi Goldberg struts her stuff as the under cover nun Marie Clarance and attends a high school which she turns upside down, music is great and the soundtrack is wonderful, a must see.
