The worst film ever made in the history of the world
on 29 November 2015
Firstly I would have given this zero stars if I could.
Without any doubt whatsoever this is the worst film that I've ever seen. I must admit that I don't recall it coming out in 1998, and that it must have gone rather under the radar (miles under it by the state of the acting and dialogue). But then other not so well performing British films (Suzie Gold perhaps) can be half way decent even on viewing years later.
But as for this. I have never watched an entire comedy film without smirking at least once. not only did I not chuckle or laugh or smile even once, I sat opened mouthed through the entire thing. Gobsmacked! There is no other word to describe how bad this film is. I have to question the sanity of seemingly decent actors to get involved in this, and can only think that it was a long time ago and perhaps they were young and needed to pay off their acting school loans or some such thing. it's just a shame that newly qualified actors had seemingly so quickly forgotten how to act on mass.
As for the dialogue...no don't go there, I've said enough. I quit!
All I would say is that as a comparison, Martha Meet Frank Daniel and Laurence (awful title straight away) makes Maid in Manhattan with Jenifer Lopez seem as good as the Philadelphia Story, and puts Jennifer Lopez's acting up there with Katherine Hepburn. 'Nuff said
