3.0 out of 5 stars French Translation of Hitchcock, 11 Oct 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Hitchcock at War: Aventure Malgache / Bon Voyage [VHS] (VHS Tape)
In the same way that Cecil B. DeMille made 'The Story of Dr. Wassell' as his contribution towards the war effort, Alfred Hitchcock made two short films for the British government in French. As he was an Englishman directing French actors in French, it is akin to Paul writing his letters in Greek, and then writing two other letters in Norman French even though he is not a French speaker or writer. To be able to direct a film in a language that is not your own shows versatility and a broad base of talent.
