5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great example of the comedy genius of R&M, 12 Jun 2001
This review is from: The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer: The Complete Series 1 [VHS] [1993] (VHS Tape)
With other great items as "The Food & The Drink" with Bob making a cup of tea by placing his head, which has a box of teabags gaffer taped to the top of it, into a pot of boiling water, and Vic sticking cocktail sticks of Giraffe meat into his oversized comedy forearms; to the "Antiques Roadshow" with Hugh Skully (really Bob surrounded by monkeys) and such sections as "Chokers", "Booze" and "Muck & Tat".
There is a review of the latest "Mulligan & O'Hare" Album, the Bloke who demands "Got any Booze for t'Baby?", and other top quality items.
With added guest appearences from "Uncle Peter's Band", The Bra Men, The Bloke from Go West, Lovejoy, Burt (or is that Boyt) Reynolds, and of course Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye.
A great video all-round.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it now, you fool, and laugh until you vomit., 5 Nov 2000

I'm trying really hard to stop this review from turning into a list of synonyms for 'fantastic', so bear with me. Better still, stop reading this and get the video, then you'll know what I'm on about. How else are you going to find out how to make a coconut in the privacy of your own home or what adaptations Melvyn Bragg has made to his BMX? All this, plus the funniest celebrity interview ever televised...ever!
If you're a Reeves and Mortimer fan, you probably already have this tape. If you're not, watch it and you will be. At the very least, you'll find yourself singing 'I love the smell of...' in the shower for the rest of eternity

5.0 out of 5 stars what can i say?, 25 Dec 2004

This review is from: The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer: The Complete Series 1 [VHS] [1993] (VHS Tape)
I'm not going to mention any details of this video, only that you MUST buy it at any cost. There are a few warnings, those being that you must have an abnormally broad sense of humour to appreciate and understand the god-like genius that is Reeves and Mortimer. Nothing before or since has even come close to it's bizarre brilliance. It must be admitted however that alot of ideas have been stabilised by Morecambe and Wise, but this is no bad thing atall, as they are in no way copying. It would take a team of CIA scientists to determine where Reeves and Mortimer got theyre twisted but family friendly comedy magic from. I only wish I could give this item Much more than 5 stars. God bless Reeves and Mortimer.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer (Series 1) VHS, 21 Aug 2010
This review is from: The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer: The Complete Series 1 [VHS] [1993] (VHS Tape)
This is an excellent release and I recommend the video to all Reeves and Mortimer fans as it contains extended episodes with scenes that haven't been broadcast or released on DVD (I can't think why the extended versions didn't come out on DVD). Some of thee scenes are very funny and I can imagine many fans of Vic and Bob would like to see them. There are some very funny characters in the series as well as some surreal moments (like spoof adverts for fruit and veg that feature an Edwardian scene where a person's head is a fruit or vegetable!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Sitting on the dock of the bay..., 6 Sep 2004
This review is from: The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer: The Complete Series 1 [VHS] [1993] (VHS Tape)
watching the ships coming in...and going out again... That's one way to spend your time, but instead, you could watch this video. If you like surreal comedy, then this is the thing for you. Altogether now "IIIIIIII love the smell of manuuuuuurrrreeee..."

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely hilarious video from the funniest comedy duo ever, 1 May 2001

This review is from: The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer: The Complete Series 1 [VHS] [1993] (VHS Tape)
This video is the finest example of Vic and Bob at the height of their powers in the sketch-show format! Absolutely demented but side-splitting sketches and not forgetting of course, the glorious routines featuring the duo themselves at their trademark desk, and or, wandering around the studio, bear the mark of surreal genius! World class! If you haven't seen these episodes, watch them immediately!

Vic and Bob at their very best! With a tour of the Reeves and Mortimer factory in,wait for it,Kent. Vic and Bob show us the new products in the Reeves and Mortimer range and the regular agony aunts-Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye (sitting on the dock of the bay, watching ships come in and go out again)it's a laugh a minute show and possibly one of their best ever.
