4.0 out of 5 stars McMahon and Austin Finally Do Battle!
This video has an appallingly boring mid card, which includes Tori's WWF debut, but the main event matches are nothing short of excellent. The Rock and Mankind have a brutually entertaining 'I Quit' match, and Austin and McMahon are the first two competitors in the best Royal Rumble match I've ever seen. Chyna also takes part, and Austin gets sent to hospital by a...

This review is from: WWF: Royal Rumble 1994 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
My favourite part of this outstanding event has got to be the intercontinental match between IRS and Razor Ramon. This match has it all and so does they event.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best rumbles of all time., 22 Sep 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: WWF: Royal Rumble 1994 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Royal Rumble 1994 features strong performances from stars such as Undertaker Razor Ramon and Bret Hart. the rumble its self is exciting throughout and ends controversial finish. All other matches were brilliant, with no weak performances. Not one to be missed, this rumble keeps the high standards going from those set in 1992&1993.

4.0 out of 5 stars it's the Royal Rumble, 26 Aug 2000
By A Customer
The starter Road Dogg/boss man was ok.Intercontinental championship match Shamrock/billy Gunn was long and boring.European championship match X-pac/Gangrel is a one to watch. The Woman Championship Strap match Sable/Luna was Somewhat bad.The I Quit Match for WWf championship Rock/Mankind was Fantastic and the Royal Rumble Match with 100,000 dollars if you eliminate Austin,Austin and Mr McMahon as number one and two Was truly fantastic. This Video is one to get if you like WWF events.

4.0 out of 5 stars old skool at its best, 17 Dec 2003
This review is from: WWF: Royal Rumble 1994 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
many of the middle card matches were fairly standard build ups to the main event, but mcmahon and dibiase's commentry made the event 10 times better.
the casket match between taker and yokozuna was excellent with both men on top form. the eventual winner din't deserve it, but what the heck, it was still good!
the rumble was brilliant as usual and the ending is a complete shock- buy it just to see the decision over who wins!!!
old skool wwf at its best!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hart Failure, a Rebirth & a storied Rumble 94, 21 Jun 2013
This review is from: WWF: Royal Rumble 1994 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase joins Vince McMahon behind commentary and DiBiase made this PPV even better.
Interestingly enough the VHS cuts away from Dibiase as his former tag partner battled Razor Ramon for the IC title match where JR & Monsoon did the honours for that 1 match instead.
But onto the review.

Before the PPV Tatanka's 2 year undefeated steak (at least televised) was ended by Yokozuna when Finland native Ludvig Borga cost him to be pinned with The Bonsai drop.
Royal Rumble 94 was supposed to be Tatanka seeking out revenge against Borga in the 1st match, however Borga had been replaced by Tatanka's other recent nemesis, Bam Bam Bigelow.
A very decent match to kick off the show, Bigelow moved amazingly for his size.
It shows in the crowd tho that the match lost steam before it started because of the substitution. Over all: 2.5/5

The Quebecers defend the Tag Titles against the squabbling brothers of Bret & Owen Hart after their initial fall out at the previous PPV the Survivor Series as they attempt to reunite for the gold.
Not only was this a fantastic match in itself helped immensely by Dibiase through out but it played dividends into the Rumble match itself.
Notice Dibiase calling the challenging team "The Bret Brothers"
Also the promo delivered by Owen post match was delivered with so much emotion on his behalf, it concreted one of the best feuds & storylines ever. 5/5

Razor Ramon defends the IC title against his nemesis IRS in a match that instigated the classic ladder match at WrestleMania 10 between Razor & Shawn Michaels.
The match needs some serious suspension of disbelief towards the finish but the twist towards the finish was memorable. 2.5/5

World Wrestling Federation champion Yokozuna defends the title against Undertaker in a casket match after they began feuding following their double contout at the previous Survivor Series match instigated by Yoko's fear of caskets.
A really good match filled with 11 shades of controversy in another match which spelled part 1 of Mr Fuji's master plan.going into the PPV.
What happened after the match at the time was atmospherically enchanting and is still talked about today. 5/5

Its worth noting that Dibiase's commentary could have been him scouting for talent for his Million Dollar Corporation later on in the year.
Bam Bam Bigelow, Tatanka & a fake Undertaker which instigated from the casket match were all future members.

The Royal Rumble match itself was initially carried by whether Bret will be able to make it in & a bounty placed on Lex Luger's head to prevent him from winning as he was Yoko's biggest threat to his WWF title.
Diesel recieved serious fan support for a heel bodyguard & most likely concreted his push a couple months later.
It also saw the WWE PPV debut of Jeff Jarrett & Hardcore Holly.
The final 4 included 2 future Hall of famers who would both later main event WrestleMania & a superstar who would years later feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin & a superstar Vince was trying to sell but the fans wouldn't buy. 5/5

A very enjoyable Rumble match at a very enjoyable PPV with storylines through out that shaped the rest of the year.

Over all rating 4.5/5

MVP's: Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Diesel, Undertaker & 11 "paid superstars by Mr Fuji"

Essential.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliantly Violent, 17 April 2000

Worth buying for the brutal I QUIT MATCH alone and the ROYAL RUMBLE McMahon v Stonecold matchup. Only reason for not giving five stars was the support matches were not quite as good as the Main Events.
