This review is from: Vol 3: Concerto 2 / 3 Preludes (Audio CD)
William Kapell gives deeply felt and elecrifying account of Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 2 and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Slow sections are wisely paced and played with noble beauty and delicacy. Fast sections and movements are dazzling with every note articulated. Sviatoslav Richter would admire these recordings. Remastered from the original RCA master tape or plate, bass part has slightly more depth and body than Naxos remastering.
