5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful live album showcase, 24 Dec. 2003

This review is from: Never Say Goodbye (Audio CD)
These 2 live discs, recorded on tours in the far east, superbly showcase the quality and quantity of Ten's material. By 1998 when this album made, the band had already released 3 studio albums in quick succession (X, Name of the Rose, The Robe) so there were plenty of top songs to choose for inclusion. Musically, Ten demonstrate what a well-drilled and precise band they are on stage (particularly the powerful guitar of Vinny Burns), and singer Gary Hughes proves his vocal talent on each and every song.

Mr Hughes's stage patter ("sing this one with us" etc) hints at old fashioned show-biz values, this is no sneering punk act, but the audience clearly love the professionalism on display.

This CD is recommended as a starting point for new fans - you get a good overview of the early albums, and a great live album into the bargain.
