My brother Bernard of Yate, the jazz freak, said that Monk wasn't "playing in the gaps" as much as on some of his records, but it sounds pretty Monkish to me. An excellent, apparently subdued set with Oscar Pettiford and Kenny Clarke recorded in 1955, probably late at night. Sound is pretty good too. All Duke songs, including Mood Indigo and Caravan. Once this stuff gets in your head, it'll never come out. But that's Monk for you.

I find with these leather tray purses, the stitching eventually goes, and I`ve yet to find a repairer who can re-stitch them. This item, then, is one that is being held in reserve until, for whatever reason, I need to use it. I can tell you that I have examined the stitching, and I can find no fault with it.
