5.0 out of 5 stars If you keep it simple, you can't go wrong, 21 Mar 2001

In my eyes, this is a smashing debut by those amazing Aussies. Every song lets you appreciate the simple things in life, whereas songs of today are angst driven or focus on the frivulous. This is a must have for audiophiles as well as fans of the late Michael Hutchence and surviving members of INXS. I thank them for bestowing upon me this masterpiece.

5.0 out of 5 stars Debut and a half!, 14 Oct 2010

This album from the boys "down south" is an absolute must for any music fan. Each track on here has it's own flavour, which blends well into a great album of songs from the post punk era, and has hardly aged at all. The enthusiasm that each of these tracks pumps out can only be found on a debut such as this. Great music by great musicians for music lovers everywhere. The boys have made some great tunes since they made this album, but few come close to the sheer audible magic that this recording portrays. Shame about Hutchie!

This is the LP that won INXS their legions of fans, a fantastic debut. Shame Amazon.co.uk has put the release date down ten years later than it actually was!

4.0 out of 5 stars A much better later release from INXS, 16 Nov 1999

I think that this is one of the band's better releases, especially of the nineties, and I like almost every song on this cd. "By my Side" is a beautiful song that I could listen to many times over. "Suicide Blond" is a completely different sound but is just as contagious. The band had a lot of successful singles from this cd and you will find many of them to be quite familiar. However, I still prefer the early days of INXS when they were slightly more, well - eighties. This is a great band and the tragedy of Michael Hutchence is very sad.
