I have not had this box set long, a matter of days in fact, but already it has assumed a pivitol place in my collection. While i would concure with the general concensis that Elvis's 60's recordngs are not as essential as his 50's work (the spawning ground of rock and roll) that in no way devalues the overall excelence of this outstanding set. The songs are vital throughout and the good vastly outways the bad, you will be rocking along to this from the word go. For the collector the rarities and alternative takes are essential, and this set delivers on both counts. If you've got a bit of Elvis already and are considering this box set (or the 50s or 70s masters) stop considering and start buying, i did (or rather my girlfriend did for me) and i don't regret it one bit, now how to get that Roy Orbison box set...

Love all the music in this box set,no loss of sound as if Elvis sung these songs yesterday, the only problem I have is the. CDs sometimes comes loose, but for the price is excellent,so it is only a minor problem,as someone said put the discs in separate blank cd cases, the booklet which is attached in the middle is fantastic, highly recommend this box set, many thanks again Amazon

A Trip through the sixties with Elvis Maturing Voice as the years went by from the fast Make me know it to the more Romantic There's Always Me, Classic's like Fame and Fortune to Suspicion to country I'll Remember You, the variety
In Elvis's Voice is amazing, I would recommend this box set for young and old alike

i think that this is a very tidy boxset and it is easily stored considering i have the rare vinyl press edition of this boxset. The reason i bought this again is because i dont want to use the vinyl as the lp's have never been played so i can listen to this collection for the very first time.

The case for this collection must be the worst I have. One day either the case or discs are going to be damaged trying to get the discs back into the case. Its a real shame as the product is so well presented. I expect better things from Sony

Great set of stuff from the 60s which shows that his talents weren't wasted during that decade

By missing out the movie soundtrack fluff and the gospel/religious elements we can see a clear picture of the pop/rock sensibilities still being very much in place

It sounds great as well - crystal clear production values

And such good value at the moment

I thought I had heard most of Elvis's songs on my large collection of cd's, but in this box set of 5 cd's were some that I had not heard. It is a fantastic set and just love all of the songs.
