5.0 out of 5 stars A great rock album from a great band!, 15 May 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: What the hell (Audio CD)
Here's a fantastic CD that just has to be in every heavy-metaller's collection. No excuse! This four-piece band fronted by a female vocalist (Nina C. Alice) with such an amazing voice, even more powerful than most male metal vocalists, they produce 65 minutes of the finest heavy Rock 'n' Roll you'll every hear. Even Lemmy himself contributed to some of the lyrics of a couple of the tracks, so that's gotta be saying something about how worthy this band is! Right from the very first track "Spend The Night With Me", you'll find yourself glued to the very end. And you'll be hitting that Auto-Replay button on your CD-player as soon as the CD ends! The very visual "Voodoo Doll" deserves a special mention, one of the best lyrics and story-lines to ever hit a Rock 'n' Roll song. Skew Siskin are not one of those bands that rely on just pure shock or image to grab atention. They're pure talent. The lyrics are very well written. The music is loud, heavy, catchy and rocking. It's everything that pleases my ears. Let's rock the house!

4.0 out of 5 stars Old-skool rock 'n' roll/metal as we love it - is back!!!, 10 Jan 2000

This review is from: What the hell (Audio CD)
Remember the old days when the likes of Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Guns 'N' Roses, old Metallica and Judas Priest used to dominate our lives? Ever wondered why todays's band don't do this style anymore? Well make way for Skew Siskin, a quartet who're currently Lemmy's (Motorhead) favourite band, and will certainly bring the dying metal back to life. But what makes them so different from the already established metal bands? Meet Nina C. Alice on lead vocals, a female with attitude who stands firmly on her ground and is set to go very high in this male dominated genre.
This album is full of banshee vocals, heavy riffs, catchy bludgeoning songs, sleazy lyrics - this masterpiece is a heavy metaller's wet dream! You'll feel that thanks to bands like Skew Siskin, metal is no longer dead.
Check this album out and I guarantee you won't be disapponted!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what today's rock 'n' Roll should be!, 3 Jun 2000
This review is from: What the hell (Audio CD)
If Amazon allows me to make a second entry, I'd like to correctmy original rating.
"What The Hell" is a definate 5-Starrating! It just gets better and better each time I listen to it, and deserves top marks. I was dead impressed the first time I heard it, and now it's really grown on me. Songs like "Spend The Night With Me", "Ace Against The Jack" and "Voodoo Doll" just keep playing-back in my head! Every track ROCKS with perfection!... A definate must-have for ANY hard rock 'n' roll / metal collection! END

5.0 out of 5 stars Rock'n Roll. Rock'n Roll, rOCK'n RoLL, 9 Jun 2000

super fat guitars, over a mega fat drum grove. A bass with fat strings and a razor blade elf on voc. I had never such problems with my hifi, cause I had to strangulate my boxes and pull it up to the very heavy 11! Men, this needs to be heard and international. Forget Metallica, Gun'sn Shroses. Here's comes a four piece bunch of meistros on intsruments in the name of rock. Sorry for my funny english, I am an Immigrant. Come from the land of the ice and snow... Northern Girl

Hearing this cd is like you're in a smokey bar with this great band on stage playing their nuts off, and kicking your ass till your pants fall off. That's the way rock & roll was meant to be and should be. This world has some excellent things to offer and Skew Siskin is the living proof!
Greetings from Jan De Greve...
