'Suzie Quatro' rode alongside the 'Glam-era' with some style between 1973-1980.
Must admit I did collect her music back then, she was perhaps the Queen of 'Glam
-Rock'at the time, achieving five top-ten entries two of which topped the chart the
two being 'Can the Can'(Chart '1' 1973) and 'Devil Gate Drive'(Chart '1' 1974) along
with five further top ten hits, she did have a further six top thirty entries as well
as a few lower order hits.
Other than the two number '1's some of my other favourites included....''48 Crash'
(Chart '3' 1973)'If You Can't Give Me Love'(Chart '4' 1978) ....'She's in love with You'
(Chart '11' 1979) ....'Daytona Demon'(Chart '14' 1973)....'The Wild One'(Chart '7' 1974)
..'Tear me Apart'(Chart '27' 1977) ...and....'You're Mama Won't Like Me'(Chart '31' 1975)
these among the favourites from this 70's artist.
'Suzi' was a significant part of the 70's scene, we'd have been poorer without her contribution,
which certainly helped to put the fun into the music of the day.
Most of her material was written by 'Mike Chapman' and 'Nicky Chinn' who also wrote numbers for
the likes of 'Mud' 'Sweet' and 'Racey' 'Chinn and Chapman' were one of the 70's great successes
in song-writing terms.
'Suzi Quatro' was indeed one of the 70's Greats. (essential album for collector's of 70's music)

Back in the 70's I was a huge fan of Suzi and this CD brings back many happy teenage memories. It contains all her big hits which I used to own on vinyl. I would thoroughly recommend this CD to any fan of Suzi or anyone who enjoys the music of the glam rock era.

American born Suzi Quatro is an icon of 1970s glam-rock scene, and as such, there are plenty of compilations of her work out there. This one, 'The Wild One - The Greatest Hits', was released in 1990, and contains virtually all the essentials that she recorded in her peak, but only as a solo artist, meaning that her hit duet with Chris Norman: 'Stumblin' In', is not included.

Suzi fared very well in places such as Ireland and Germany, but her impressive chart history in Britain includes two number one hit singles: 'Can the Can' and 'Devil Gate Drive', as well as having another two top 5 smashes with '48 Crash' and 'If You Can't Give Me Love', all of these are here, along with nine other singles, and some good covers of rock-and-rock classics like Elvis' 'All Shook Up' and 'Wake Up Little Susie' by the Everly Brothers.

This early Suzi CD release on EMI is a great introduction to her work, complete with a great cover picture, and a page-long biography by Chris White. The only real issue is that with it being such a old CD now, the sound quality isn't as good as some of the subsequent releases. Still, the sound is satisfying enough, although I do hope that the record company decides to put out a digitally-remastered version. Ms. Quatro was right up there with the best of female rockers - what a voice!

Oh the memories! Suzi Quatro is a little pocket rocket and she proves it in this CD! I bought it because I watched The Runaways and not only was I inspired again by Joan Jett, but it brought back very fond memories of my school girlfriends and I trying to look like Suzi, walk like Suzi, and sing like Suzi. My best friend was called Suzanne and we were all jealous because she could be called Suzi. Not bad really for the pupils of a comprehensive school in the middle of Airdrie in Scotland!!! We salute you Suzi Quatro!!!

Great CD for Suzy Quatro lovers but the 1999 Greatest Hits compilation is preferred as the HIT duet with Chris Norman STUMBlIN ' IN is missing from this compilation. Bullet

This cd is an excellent compilation of Suzi Quatro's hits! Its been out now since 1990 nearly 20 years. Great art work and all the rest.

I think now though we (fans) deserve a digitally remastered version of this or even better a brand new compilation digitally remastered with a few extra tracks!!! what do you say EMI Worldwide???

A good compilation with all of the tracks you'd expect - 'Can the Can', 'Daytona Demon', 'Devilgate Drive', '48 Crash' etc. Some of the tracks on this 20 track cd seem a wee bit like 'filler' but over all, a good collection that 'does exactly wot it says on the tin.... '
