Not that easy to get this cd, although having listened to it for a number of days now you would have thought that the niche market place it would appeal to would have been big enough to make this a bigger success. Its difficult to fine any real fault with the music, it certainly wont pin you to the wall but then thats not the idea. There is a little of the allabout eve to it and its none the worse for that, the vocals of Ms Stobart on always good, always with that maiden in distress quality. The other thing you cannot fail to miss is the quality of the guitar and the bass - stand up Mr Trewavas - all in all a very likeable offering, and the current talk 10 years on is that another one is not far away !!

I've never really been into Marillion, so I'm not sure why I chose to buy this project involving Marillion's guitarist. Maybe it was the haunting cover, or the unearthly-looking lead singer. Whatever the reason, I'm glad I did. Beautifully restrained, ethereal folksy-rock is the best I can describe this. Many of the tracks are sedate and acoustic-driven, underpinning beautifully delicate female vocals; occasionally there is a more up-tempo, rockier number to wake you up - all are welcome and you wouldn't want to lose any of them. Think a snowy winter's night, in a cabin on a hillside far away from habitation, with stars in the sky... and you have perhaps a taste of this music. I wish they'd do another one.
