I can't say how awesom this band are. As a little 10 year old Iron Maiden were the first metal band I ever heard, I got the Peice of mind album. It really did change my life and has turned me into what I am now. You can place this album along side a mozart and it won't look out of place. It is a true classic of an album and although Iron Maiden might not be your cheap rap out fits they have their own individuality, they simply don't care what people think of them as long as they are happy with their music and it is this fact that makes them what they are, they won't conform to what is "in". They play what is good music to them and they can apeal to any metal genre fan. This album does testament to their outstanding career, but does not contain their greatest hits as there is not a duf track by them. Another album that is new and is as awesome as any other by them is the new album which is a must get too. Iron Maiden will live on for many years to come, even if they come out like rod stewart, they will rock!

Iron Maiden you may laugh...so did I...okay so they're not cool, not hip and their trousers are far too tight but did you ever hear a Dave Murray solo, a Steve Harris epic, a unique Iron Maiden melodic riff?
I kid you not, Iron Maiden really are a truly wonderful band. Unlike other metal bands they have a wonderful sense of melody which shows in not only the vocals but the guitars as well.
The musicianship is wonderful as well and it is sad to see the lads struggling nowadays after the hit filled 80's. If anything their recent albums have been better!
You must hear all 12 minutes of Sign Of The Cross if you like to hear the equivalent of Shakespeare on guitar and the Dickens of melodies is present on Fear Of The Dark. Afraid To Shoot Strangers is quite incredible too.
Iron Maiden: Oh yes...

When I first heard of Iron Maiden I thought they would be a load of galloping riffs and strung out epics. But I'm glad I bought this, as a result of this I've gone on to buy almost every other Maiden album. With great songwriters such as Adrian Smith on "Wasted Years", Bruce Dickinson on "Be Quick or Be Dead", and of course Steve Harris "Aces High" you can't go wrong with such a wealth of talent. If you haven't listened to Maiden before, or just want to be re-aquainted, I would recommend this as an essential starting point.

The only album containing the single "Virus". Daft me; I even had the "Virus" flag, but did not think, when selling my Iron Maiden singles collection, that I no longer had this song. So I bought Best of the Beast. This was a long time ago. I have had a T-shirt of BotB for over ten years and a poster for even longer. Any compilation of Iron Maiden songs is going to be great, although never the absolutely perfect compilation for any one fan. This, however, has that extra bonus of having that one elusive track "Virus".

I cannot believe how great this CD is. Songs like Sign Of The Cross, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, and Fear Of The Dark are just three songs on this 27-song CD. What can I say other than "It rocks!"? Okay: If you have not ever heard Iron Maiden, this is a MUST BUY! Considering the 2-CD-set is hard to get, I suggest u GET IT NOW, and see for your self how awesome Best Of The Beast really is. Prepare for your life to change.

Excellent album, I recommend to everyone, even for non-fan, it is an excellent disc to meet the band, here are the best songs of Iron Maiden until 1995 and the album booklet provides complete descriptions of all the band's albums and tours and etc.. For those already a fan, it is worth buying to complete the collection.

Some things just can't be replaced by digital media, mostly because they don't bother to upload the recordings to the data banks, When I have to replace my media this seller is the one I always look for first. Items always as described and more often than not look brand new

Outstanding rare double CD from the masters of UK metal !

Bought via Amazon to replace the one some theiving, nasty, useless, benefit-cheating, low-life, scummy, coke-head (may you rot in hell) nicked from my car. I hope the minimal money you got for this second hand CD minus it's case and the other stuff you decided to take without my permission while damaging my vehicle pays toward your accidental heroin overdose !

So I'm happier now I have it succesfully replaced. If anyone else fancies a taster CD of the Iron, this one is for you, oooo and try also Live after Death !

As for the scumbag, if you know who you are, and if I ever catch you, you will wish you had never chosen your path in life. How I wish we lived in Saudi Arabia, so you could never steal again. Not with your hands at any rate. Maybe you would be able to grab stuff from cars with your teeth afterwards with having lost the use of your hands to a flashing scimitar ?

This CD can not cover all of their best songs, but it is very well conceived and produced, so you can
hear the best of the best from their earliest days to the arrival of Bayley in "Maiden". For me, this
is their best compilation that was released.
