5.0 out of 5 stars Give it time and be rewarded
This is a masterpiece. For so long, it was the only Tori album that I couldn't connect with. In fact, I never used to get more than half way with it. But one day, it just clicked with me, and now it's one of my favourite albums ever. It has touches of genius throughout, and although it may not be everyone's cup of tea, I fail to see how you couldn't love the beautiful...

1.0 out of 5 stars No! Do NOT get this version!
"Extra Tracks" is not true - it's actually REPLACEMENT track. And it's the worst possible replacement. Some marketing fool thought that the remix version of Professional Widow should be added after this was a dance hit. It's totally at odds with the rest of the album. Worse still, they removed In the Springtime of His Voodoo to fit the PW remix on.

Oh dear! Oh dear!

I blame the parents. They must have told her she has a good voice, after all, parents forgive everything. They must have encouraged her to write 'profound' songs. However, the problem is her songs must be so profound to Ms Amos that she seems to believe that singing them in a grunt or a squeak gives them that extra edge. All it does is make the lyrics unintelligible. Only about one word in a dozen seems to be in English. The rest is just meaningless sounds strung together over a sometimes irrelevant accompaniment. It's no wonder the lyrics are printed in the CD booklet, how else would we know what the hell they are? This CD is great if you are suicidal, it will tip you write over the edge, but otherwise it's a complete waste of money. No wonder it's on sale for £0.01 - even that's too much.
