Creepy, sensual, sophisticated and poetic; Anita sings of the mystery of human being surrounded by an intricate collage of sounds. I stumbled upon this by accident, but I feel as if I discovered a jewel.

A largely disappointing disc by one-time Nick Cave collaborator (the album's produced by one of the Bad Seeds). The covers of "Lost in Music" and "Sexual Healing" (no joke!) are fun, sinister and gothy, but all in all Anita Lane seems to be trying too hard to be Lydia Lunch, with a little-girl voice singing sinister but poorly written lyrics. Less than moving, tho' the covers provide some mock-Goth novelty value. The best original track on here is "Groovy Guru". Maybe Bad Seeds completists would enjoy this one?
