The quality of the Bonzo Dog Band are apparent in this album, however, I feel what this compilation lacks is the consistancy required to make a good album, as there are a few tracks from their weakest, and final album, 'Let's make up and be friendly'. This would make a better album, and would be a more fitting tribute if it stuck to the plan of putting their good songs on it, rather than the ones they were contracted to produce later in the band's career.
This 'bestiality' lacks gems such as:
Look out There's a Monster Coming! Laughing Blues Death Cab for Cutie
and other tracks from their seminal album, 'Gorilla'.

I like the sheer brilliance of the Bonzos...they look at what they wanted to perform on stage and simply adapted in the early days songs from the 20's & 30's and arranged them into a set they were happy with and thus began their short-lived life as first performers and then as recording artistes...
Beastiality is not a studio album, but simply a compilation of some of their work and whilst it will give you a great insight into their act...this can only whet your appetite for more...Search what the Bonzos have brought out...there's modern work out their as well to obtain...with brand spanking new members of the Bonzos in Ade Edmonson, Stephen Fry and Phil Jupitas for starters...Paul Merton has also been on tour with them only a few years back.
If you start with this...I guarantee that you'll get hooked and join the happy throng of being Doo-Dah Lally...

A fine compilation of most of the Bonzos' best tracks, at a good price. A good introduction, though if you're really keen you may want to look at some of the more extensive compilations, or (dare I say it?) reprints of the albums. The music is complicated, silly and very funny, and the wit hasn't suffered from ageing at all.

These guys combine masterful musicianship with clever lyrics and great humour - always a good listen - they would definately appear on the bill at my "fantasy concert".

Heard this years ago at friends and thought at the time that I must by the CD, but never got around to it. Having heard the Bonzo's again on this CD, it still made me laugh.

I have not herd all of these tracks for years, so as a combination cd this was a great treat. If you have knowledge of the bongos then you must listen to this cd.

I was surprised how amusing this CD is even after four decades and more. The guitar solo on 'Canyons Of Your Mind' has to be one of the best ever.

This had all the songs I most loved by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. Excellent listening.
