5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful
hauting voices and a soaring lead make this piece, once exclusively for the vatican an essential addition to a music lovers collection.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Pergolesi's MISERERE
Bought this one fooled by the title. But instead of the rarely edited Miserere, it's another version of the Stabat Matter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Example of Early Baroque, 16 April 2007
By
SPDMNMiata (Houston, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Allegri: Miserere Mei Deus (Audio CD)
This compilation is a beautiful example of early baroque style music. It include Allegri's Miserere, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Vivaldi's Sonata in E flat major for 2 violins, and Caldara's Stabat Mater. The vocalists demonstrate an appreciataion and understanding of baroque vocal styles with their minimal use of vibrato which is so prevalant in many classical recording. The music can be downloaded much less expensively at iTunes.

5.0 out of 5 stars buy it!, 11 Feb 2002
This review is from: Allegri: Miserere Mei Deus (Audio CD)
A choral piece of great beauty. Haunting and evocative of quiet spring evenings. Oh, and for Merchant Ivory fans, this piece was used in 'Maurice'.
