Céline has an incrediable voice and no one can deny that and if you are a mad fan of Céline's then you just have to get her first english album, after this album you won't believe how she can change her styles of singing and the different beats.

These are my favourite songs on the album(if there was) any other way, where does my heart beat now, the last to know, if we could start over, have a heart

On the whole the is great and if you like this one you'll like all her albums including the french ones, I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent start to an excellent career!, 24 Dec 2001

The young Celine Dion shows off her amazing powerful vocal range throughout this album. Although it has a slight eighties vibe, she still sings her favourite classy love songs and dancey tunes. Where Does My Heart Beat Now (which also appears on 'Celine Dion') is the one to look out for.

'Unison' is Celine Dion's first English language speaking album. At this point in Celine's life, she was just learning to colloquiate in English, but she nevertheless puts all her heart and emotion in this spectacular work of art. Produced by the likes of Christopher Neil, Andy Goldmark, David Foster and Tom Keane, this is the album that sparked Celine's forthcoming infamous career as one of the worls's greatest (if not the greatest of them all) singers. It is an album made with a lot of 80's/90's disco dance beats which was very 'in' at the time. Even now, these songs are cherished within the Celine Dion fanbase.
'Where does my heart beat now' apparently is the song that ultimately made Celine's stardo within the international music field. For me, any song Celine releases proves how wonderfully talented with this beautiful woman truly is. 'If there was any other way' is a great disco-beat song that is easily caught up in one's head for days on end (in a good way that is). 'Unison'; the title song, is an extremely powerful song in it's own right, and is easily one of the greatest songs of its time with it's up-beat tempo and simplicity that just makes you picture yourself in concert listening to this un-beatable voice. The album ends with a soft ballad named 'Have a Heart'. This song apparently, after being sung live for a respectable person in power (i forget who), is the song that persuaded Celine's management and crew to produce this album. They were given a bigger budget than all of Celine's other albums put together in the francophone district of Canada and then a legend was internationally born!! I hope you enjoy this piece of history and art as much as I did and regularly do day in and day out. blessed be!

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Classic., 24 April 2008

Forget the cover Celine did not just walk out of a Mad patience hospital.... LOL, in fact she just released her first English Speaking Album. I'm still very suprised that a few people think she is American. She is French Canadian, She was already a major Star in her Native Language before she was knowen in the UK. And although she did release a couple of singles of this album "Where does my heart beat now" unfortunatly wasn't a great success in the charts, But was re-released as a B Side to the titanic single. when this Album was released how charts where still dominated by a lot of bg boy bands. So it was a hit & miss.

This album is brilliant all round. And shows just how far Celine as come in her career,It's more 80s pop.

4.0 out of 5 stars A solid English language beginning, 14 Mar 2004
This review is from: Unison (Audio CD)
1990 release Unison is Celine Dions first English language album and she really pulls out all the stops. The albums stand out tracks are the powerful ballads Where Does My Heart Beat Now and Have A Heart but also the funky Unison and I Feel Too Much which does have a very 80s feel. The album isnt too long either with only 11 tracks. My worst track has to be Love By Another Name as i dont think it fits with the album. Celine spoke very little English at the time of making the album but you cannot tell at all which only adds to the admiration and respect that must be paid to her.She still manages to capture emotion and feeling into the songs.
