"Living Legends", are they or aren't they? Who really cares anyway? All that needs to be said is that Cabaret Voltaire arguably made some of the finest British, low budget sounding electro-experimental songs of the late seventies and early eighties. At least, that's what you hear to when you listen to "The Living Legends". Included here is their rather splendid "Extended Play EP", which features the excellent "Do The Mussolini (Headkick)" aswell as a splendid cover of The Velvets' "Here She Comes Now". You also get their classic guitar driven effort of a pop song, "Nag Nag Nag" - a cocky blast of amateurish whinging set to the driving drum beat of what sounds like a kiddies beat-up old toy keyboard... Marvellous!!! Also included here, are two of the bands early UK Independent Top 10 singles, "Silent Command" and "Seconds Too Late". The latter featuring one of the best robot voices you're ever likely to hear on any early eighties record. Cabaret Voltaire have achieved something with "The Living Legends"... This is tacky-British-lo-fi-experimental-post-punk-electro-pop music at it's best...

This Cabaret Voltaire collection is one of the best albums ever for the late 70s / early 80s experimental music period!!!!
If you like Eddie's Out, Walls of Jericho, and stuff like that,,, check this out too!!!!

This album is brilliant!
You do feel like you are going on some magical, yet odd, journey which in my opinion is great!
