5.0 out of 5 stars Soft and Sharp, 8 Mar 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: 6 Track EP (Audio CD)
The first three tracks give the impression of a softer sound as a progression from the earlier self-titled album; but a sharpness familiar to elastica is gradually introduced climaxing in 'generator'. The CD fills a gap between the debut album and the second album, 'the menace', and is well worth listening to as, in theory, three years' worth of effort has gone into six tracks. 'Nothing stays the same _ Donna's home demo' is arguably the nicest track on the EP, and KB the hardest. For anyone who liked 'Elastica', this CD is reccommendable.

5.0 out of 5 stars an unheralded masterpiece, 6 May 2011
This review is from: 6 Track EP (Audio CD)
No-one ever talks about this, but it's outstanding. The best British release of the period in my opinion. Very dissimilar to anything else the band did, and it has an eerie detatched, burned atmosphere which is highly evocative. If you haven't got it, get it. The tracks that appeared on "The Menace" from here have been given a sheen that obscures their true beauty. It's fantastic
