5.0 out of 5 stars The ONE Elvis set you should have in your collection!
Collecting Elvis Presley compilations has always been addictive and RCA/Elvis Presley Enterprises know that only too well. The volume of such material is ridiculous. Elvis is great, but there are too many compilations in the market and they are basically the same. Same songs, same masters. The only possitive thing about this one is the complete booklet.

Collecting Elvis Presley compilations has always been addictive and RCA/Elvis Presley Enterprises know that only too well. The volume of such material is ridiculous. That, however, is not to say the material itself is bad. "Artist of the Century" is so good (and at a reasonable price) that it is a must for any fan but also for anyone aspiring to own a representative audio collection.
The presentation is attractive, the accompanying booklet is extremely well put together, the recordings are superb and the re-mastering is spot on. There are the usual gigantic hits, the Sun years are well represented and there are a few gems that the non-Elvis fan will not have heard: "Run On" from the Grammy-winning "How Great Thou Art" album and Bob Dylan's "Tomorrow is a long time" for example.
My only quibble? The inclusion of "Merry Christmas Baby" - Its a great track but I hate playing Christmas songs in July, still with CDs you can skipped or program it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars STUNNING ELVIS PACKAGE, 24 Jun 2014
This review is from: Artist Of The Century (Audio CD)
If you're looking for an impressive Elvis box set for you or as a gift to someone, this would be an ideal purchase. Also makes a perfect gift to a new fan who's just discovering Elvis Presley.

Appropriately titled and first released in 1999, you get all the hits and more with 75 great tracks spread over three attractive discs in a beautiful package with an accompanying colourful booklet for each disc. Songs from the 50's are on disc 1, the 60's are on disc 2, and disc 3 contains tracks from the 70's - all in great re-mastered sound.

I can sincerely recommend this handsome top seller which I bought at 18.
