5.0 out of 5 stars Sie sind die Berliner!
If you like unbelievable noise of all the (im)possible sounds played simultaneously, you will sure like this unique combo from Berlin. 3.0 out of 5 stars Mental music for a required taste!
Having only heard bits and pieces of ATR over the years and owning mainman Alec Empire's Intelligence and Sacrifice album, I thought I'd check this out as it was going cheap and well, it's definitely noisy! But there's a time and place for everything and I really enjoyed parts of this album. There's something very catchy about opening track Revolution Action and that's...

If you like unbelievable noise of all the (im)possible sounds played simultaneously, you will sure like this unique combo from Berlin. '60 Second Wipe Out' is their third album built on the reasonable quantities of youth angst, wild screaming into the microphones and the overflow of the reality falling apart. The best thing, however, is that, regardless of all the noise, they still somehow are a pop band. Which, of course, differentiates them from so many similar bands. Not that I've ever heard a band that sounds this crazy and this good at the same time. And if the album itself is not loud and mad enough for you, jump to the 9 track second CD with their Philadelphia gig - a short, wild, but excellent return to their previous albums.

Having only heard bits and pieces of ATR over the years and owning mainman Alec Empire's Intelligence and Sacrifice album, I thought I'd check this out as it was going cheap and well, it's definitely noisy! But there's a time and place for everything and I really enjoyed parts of this album. There's something very catchy about opening track Revolution Action and that's where the bands' strength lies; noisy, busy, crazy, heavy but catchy. Although, for me, this doesn't happen enough throughout 60 Second Wipe Out, it's definitely a statement of intent and with songs like the awesome Digital Hardcore, it was never going to fail.

I mainly bought this because I wanted a taste of ATR and this album had a bonus live CD Unfortunately it's not very good, only the first few tracks are reasonable If you are anarchic, nihilistic and a fierce rioter then this is for you

2.0 out of 5 stars One Trick Pony, 31 Oct. 2000

This review is from: 60 Second Wipe Out (Audio CD)
I heard a couple of tracks like atari teenage riot II which were okay, then bought this. Petulent rubbish. The sentiment to push the boundaries of noise music is cool, but the album doesn't deliver. It's especially lacking in decent lyrics (I know English isn't their first language, but that's not the excuse...) and quite a lot of words are mis-spelt in the lyric book.
I wouldn't bother if I were you. The way the wildhearts used noise to cover the melodies in Endless Nameless was much more interesting.
