This album will improve your life. No question.

How Ultrasound squashed so much genius into such a short career we will never know, but this album will show you exactly how beautiful, imaginative, innovative and downright amazing that genius was. It maybe doesn't seem like the best idea - an album so long that it's 14 tracks have to be split between 2 CDs, but forget all you've heard about Ultrasound being 'prog' and forget about their image, which seemed to be much more interesting to the press than this stunning music. Forget all that and just listen... The moment that Tiny Woods vocals come soaring in on opener 'Cross my heart' you've been sucked in. There's no escape from here! Only the worlds most cynical Steps fan could possibly fail to be touched by this album. Shades of suede, mansun, glam rock and, Ok, prog are swirled togather, but mixed with something new, adventurous and different. 'I've lost the shapes I recognise' Sings Tiny Woods on the epic 'Suckle' - that about sums it up, this is unfamiliar teritory, the land where most bands fear to tread, but if only they would. The frantic glitter time-bomb of 'Same band' will make you want to sing, no matter how you try to resist; the hectic future-disco of 'Fame thing' has the power to make the even queen mothers hips shake. 'Sentimental song' with its lush black-and-white film orchestration and huge sing-along finale will bring tears to your eyes. And these aren't even the highlights. 'Stay young' you should know, and if not you do not know what you're missing. How five people can make a chorus sound so HUGE I don't know. I don't wnat to know, I just want to get caught up in it's splendour. 'Floodlit world' is even better, Tiny's sad howl mixing with bassist vanessa's on the chorus glistening like tinsel and stealing away your heart. All this and over ten minutes of feedback at the end. My theory on the Ultrasound split is that it was a huge loss, yet a good thing, after all they could never have topped this. Very few people ever will.
