This is a brilliant, well made game that can be easily played independently by little ones. My daughter is 3 and loves it. Packs up well (without the box) for holidays etc too.

this toy keeps comming back out the cupboard. my two year old twins have enjoyed this construction toy for the last 8 months and i expect will conmtinue to do so for a while to come. good toy to put in bag as doesn't take up masses of space and can build big things with it. adults aslo seem to enjoy this too!

It's always hard to review things like this where you can't tell if the toy just isn't fun or if your child just hasn't grown into it yet, but my three year old (only just turned three though) finds these quite tough to put together. He can put them together, but they often fall apart and are frustrating. I must admit that I find myself that they take a little bit of effort to put together. He will play with them for a few minutes but not often much longer than that. I suspect that even in the long-term the number of pieces is going to limit how much fun can be had with these and the octagon shapes make it hard to build anything that resembles much - not that there is anything wrong with geometric shapes - but suspect that will limit how much they are played with too.

I bought these for my 4 year old son. If I'm honest I thought they maybe a bit babyish for him as hes really into lego (which I hate). However I thought for the small cost even if he didn't like them I could pass them off to some1 with a younger child. When my son opened them I showed him what to do. Within minutes he had taken all the orange and yellow ones and made a sunshine. Then green and pink to make a flower. I was so pleased that not only had he made something recognizable, he chose colours, you his motor skills and had fun! He then went onto make all sorts of things. Ok so his tractor didn't look exactly like a tractor but this was a fab find for my son. Would really recommend.

Bought this Galt set (along with their cotton reels & threading buttons)for Christmas. We find them all great fun. My little girl loves to build little ducks (as she calls them) by putting 2 together & lining them up next to one another. I will probably purchase another set as her inagination grows a little & we can sit & build really big ducks.

Unlike the cotton reels & buttons these are in illuminous colours, I would have preffered them to be in the usual red, yellow, green & blue to add colour recognition to this creative game. This is still a lovely game & has endless scope for creative fun.

They seem durable & we are pleased with our purchase, I would recomend them.

As the title suggests one pack is not enough as building with these is both addictive and competitive (amongst adults).

Based on other reviews, I purchased these for my nearly 3 year old son and he is really enjoying learning to connect them together. he has to concentrate to slot them together and sometimes it doesn't work first time, but with practise he is getting there.

They are bright and colourful, feel durable and long lasting.

Overall a good product which encorages imagination and concentration - just what I bought it for. A second pack is on my sons birthday list.

I came across these octons while doing a search on amazon for some contstruction toys for my little boy...that is something he did not already have....at first he was like no way i don't want this toy, now he loves it! I took them to our church where my husband is the pastor and there was 8 of our church kids having a jolly good time building with these otons. Now I am buying several more sets as there were not enough for all to play. This is a really great construction toy. Would highly recommned to anyone looking for a creative toy for their kids.

My parents bought these for me when I was 2, I am now 40 and still have nearly the whole pack - They were see-through when I was a child. My mum recently bought them for my 3 year old, who loves them - Constructing all sorts of things, mainly things to keep her horses and dinosaures in! They are excellent quality, incredibly well priced (I think my parents paid £2.00 in 1973!), they don't break when you drop - throw them across the room and I know they will be in our family forever - And now my near 10 year old girl wants them too. Triple Star.
