4.0 out of 5 stars An eighties classic
Like the film a lesson in gloriously over the top eighites sentiment. Probably the highlight being Angel of the City by Robert Tepper a true eighties power ballad and a classic example of the genre. Other good tracks include Voice of America's Son, an upbeat cheesy number the likes of which always accomponied the end credits of action films during the era. However the...

Originally had this as a kid back in the late 80s but lost it over time.

Bought it recently and to my surprise some of the tracks still held up and sounded great. The hits are spot on whereas the misses are just lame. Ones to listen out for:

John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band's - Voice of America's Sons (Great)
Jean De Beauvoir - Feel the...

However the album seems to be more than the sum of its parts and should be listened to as a whole to get a true sense of what the eighties soundtrack scene was all about, bouffants and all.

This is a highly recommended soundtrack. There's a nice selection of differing styles here from instrumentals by Sylvester Levay (which sounds similar to work produced by Georgio Moroder in the early 80's)to Robert Tepper. Miami Sound Machine also turn in Suave which gives this soundtrack a real summer feel. The best track is probably Feel The Heat by Jean Bouvier (Crown Of Thorns).

If you like the Rocky IV or Over The Top soundtracks then this will also meet your expectations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cobra Soundtrack CD, 12 Dec 2009

This is a great soundtrack (to an average film). It is a great 80's sounding album with some fantastic songs. If you like electronic atmospheric music, great melodies, great voices, well crafted songs then, this is a great CD to purchase.
It's one album that I had been searching for quite a while - as I owned the LP version and I found it at a great price.
If you like the music from Rocky, 80's soundtracks like Beverley Hills Cop/Ghostbusters, etc. then, you'll love this quality album.
