4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin....
For once some truth in advertising - Exhumed's 'Gore Metal' does exactlywhat it says on the cover, and provides the listener with 13 slabs of goregrind. As with this entire genre the influence of the mighty Carcass isevident, but Exhumed fall short of being a simple clone band. 1.0 out of 5 stars Over the top gore Death Metal...... And the Music...........
Exhumed take the Cannibal Corpse route and try and go as over the top as possible, with song titles and lyrics as vile as possible, ok nothing wrong with that, but itsallready been done and more intelligently by the aformentioned and others, and the music here does not back up the extreme lyrical content. What u get is boring old 1 dimensional rumble, rumble Death Metal...

In Carcassterms the sound here could best be described as musically reminiscent ofthe Symphonies of Sickness era, albeit with the less blast beats and moregrooving sections. A couple of songs are fairly disposable, and obviouslythe band are completely lacking in originality, but at their best (checkout classic Deadest of the Dead) Exhumed can do gore grind as good asanyone else -if you want dirty grinding gore metal (and who doesn't?) youcant go wrong with this.

4.0 out of 5 stars very good, 2 Jun. 2002

Yes sometimes these guys go ott, but hey if you don't like it, console yourself in the fact that the music is brutal as hell...The riffs are at warp speed a lot of the time and are always razor sharp, the drumming is awesome and the vocals are so bowel scrapingly good you'll be scared. Going from ear splitting screams to Chris Barnes style guttarul lows...
Death/grind fans will lap it up!

What u get is boring old 1 dimensional rumble, rumble Death Metal. My advice, check out Crytptopsy and Nile for a different kinda much more exciting Death Metal. But if u want osmething allong these lines check out cannibal corpse or The Deeds of Flesh.
