5.0 out of 5 stars My Favourite America CD of All Time (and I have them all!), 5 Dec 2010
This review is from: America - Human Nature - CD (Audio CD)
The wait between brand new America albums is always a painful experience. This one followed on from the fabulous Hourglass after a mere four years, and proved to be another exceptional album. Wednesday Morning, Moment to Moment, Wheels Are Turning and Pages all rank amongst my all time favourite America songs, and are even greatly appreciated by my 14 year old daughter! There's also an excellent medley World Alone, blending different tracks together. The final track Oloololo took me a while to understand what the lyrics were about... until I was on Safari in Kenya and recognised place names. Wonderful.

Sadly America's most recent album Here & Now - a collaboration - was a bit of a disappointment to me, especially after a 10 year wait! Far better was Gerry Beckley's solo album Horizon Fall. America are best when doing it all themselves... Human Nature is such an album and definitely worth adding to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Human Nature, 2 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: America - Human Nature - CD (Audio CD)
I gave this CD 5 stars as it is a masterpiece. It opens well with "From A Moving Train" and keeps up the high standard of America country style rock. There is a simplicity with "Town and Country", with Dewey on lead vocals, harmonized well by Gerry. "Wednesday Morning" is a very catchy song indeed, keeping a light perspective on a doomed relatiionship, delivered very well by Gerry. "These Wheels Are Turning" is Dewey on lead vocal with the best possible harmonies from Gerry. "Overwhelming World/Barstow Suite" is hard for me to describe but "Barstow " livens it up after a deep emotional range of vocals from Gerry in O W. Not so keen on "Hot Town" by Dewey. I will be playing this time and time again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go on - splash out a quid!, 17 Jun 2013

With a brand new version available here for just over a quid, I had to stop to implore someone with a modicum of love for beautiful songwriting, gorgeous harmonies and superb arrangements in the West Coast style to dip their hand in their pocket for this album.

Better in some ways even than its predecessor, Hourglass, this is quite possibly the very best of all the America albums - and I have them all.

Go on, you're worth it! This disc would be at twenty times the price.
