4.0 out of 5 stars Very underrated AOR, 13 Jun. 2000
This review is from: To the Power of Three (Audio CD)
Another failed ELP re-union, but this time, the music style was unexpected and, more importantly, guitar laden. Lake's replacement being the California-based Robert Berry - a formidable songwriter/musician in his own right.
The album obviously featured a mass of frantic keyboards from Keith Emerson fused with the powerhouse drumming of Carl Palmer - but the quality of the songs (mostly penned by Berry) and Robert's vocal delivery shine through.
Time has been cruel to this album - it's very underrated and really does show off the talents of the three musicians.

5.0 out of 5 stars Desde La Vida, 21 May 2007
This review is from: To the Power of Three (Audio CD)
This is a really great album. It has some wonderful songs on, hook laden power pop: "Talin'Bout", "Lover to Lover" "You do or you don't"....all should have ridden high in the charts. But there is the fantastic "Desde la Vide", a stripped down condensed prog meisterwerk for the modern age, which shifts through the gears like an Alpine Mountain Rally driver on acid....wonderful.....and "On My way Home" is a deeply heartfelt tribute by Keith Emerson to the late, great Tony Stratton-Smith.....would that the music industry today had a few more like him now.
