WHAT TO SAY? AFETR A COLLABORATION WITH CROWDED HOUSE, AND AN AMAZING CONCERT AT PLYMOUTH PAVILIONS IN 1993, I BOUGHT THIS ALBUM PURELY ON THE STRENGTH OF HEARING HALF OF PERSUASION ON UNI RADIO.THIS TURNED OUT TO BE ONE OF THE BETTER CHOICES! FROM THE ANGST RIDDEN PERSUASION - ANYONE WHO'S BEEN IN A RELATIONSHIP AND IS TRYING TO GET BACK THE MAGIC WILL MORE THAN IDENTIFY WITH THE LYRICS, TO THE FANTASTIC WALK YOU HOME, THERE IS NOT A SINGLE DISAPPOINTMENT.
NOTHING ELSE TO REPORT, JUST GO AND BUY IT NOW!!

Had this album when it first was released. Gave it to a visiting friend from USA, and forgot to replace it.
Having heard it again it sounds just as fresh as the day it came out.
Being Neil Finn's brother, I recommend this to all Crowded House fans.

Supposedly named after some Buddhist saying(before enlightenment, chop wood, after enlightenment, chop wood), I strongly suspect it's also named thus because some of it was recorded before his sojourn with Crowded House and some, after(or perhaps even during.) Due to the piecemeal recording process and numerous producers, it's sort of all over the map as a unified album--it doesn't really hang together. Having said that it's a great collection of songs. One or two of the songs are a bit overcooked for my taste, with intricate Peter Gabriel-esque arrangements that don't move me. However, when the music gets simple and straightforward, my God are the songs good! No less than 7 classic songs on this album.

Finally got this album on CD as a Christmas pressie! I, until, now had it on cassette tape with nothing to play it on!! Has always been a great album if not one of the best for Tim Finn/Crowded House fans!

Tim Finn comes up with a totally chilled album. Without doubt the best of any of the solo efforts and dare I say it better than any Crowded House albums - just great.

I bought this for my husband to replace his favourite cd which he had lost. Thrilled to be able to get a copy when it's no longer available in the shops.

My favourite Tim Finn CD. In your sway is a breathtaking track. Persuasion also superb. I can't praise this CD highly enough

I discovered this album for the first time recently, though it has been around for a long time and judging by the other reviews, is much loved.

The result was a delight to the ears - gorgeous melodies, great songs and Tim's lovely vocals. I haven't stopped playing it since it arrived last week.

This is a really great album and deserves more widespread recognition. Great tracks like Protected, Persuation, In Your Sway and Many's The Time testify to Tim Finn's writing skills. One of my favoutite Finn albums.

Not a duff track. Carried on from where Crowded House left off. Why is it not available as download?
