Compilation of industrial sounds from the 1980's containing SPK, Coil, Chris and Cosey, Nurse with Wound, Lustmord and then some other luminaries; Nocturnal Emissions, Metamorphosis, Konstructivists, Attrition, Legendary Pink Dots, Bourbonese Qualk and then stretching to others I have never heard of; Bushido, Sirius B, MFH. Interestingly the CD has less tracks than the album and those missing on the CD are

Paul Kelday, We Be Echo, New 7th Music and Muslimgauze.

Industrial in the sense of experimentation rather than the NIN rock formula. The songs range around the sleep/waking moments of consciousness when dreams have not fully faded from view. Originally put together by a Sounds journalist who wanted to bring together the luminaries who were beyond the usual treadmill. This collection provided an insight into another vista. Many of the artists have gone onto cult or in some cases Graham Revell (SPK) mega fame.

A sombre collection of UK artists exploring an inner mantra drawing together a new 1983 vision in conflict with the sickly pop being pumped out to provide the sugar within the mainstream water system.

I was delighted to find this rare compilation on Amazon. It contains all the best names from the industrial music era, from SPK to Lustmord and Attrition and Bourbonese Qualk. In particular love Beat the Devil by 400 Blows, which as far as I know is not available anywhere else.
