This is a collection of rarities that were originally issued as 12" versions of the radio edits on vinyl in the 1980s. You cannot get these anywhere except on this CD. Skin Deep is the best song but the others seem rather padded now. At least they do not include a long and annoying beat machine introduction, which is commonly heard on modern versions of a 12" single. The only complaint I have is that the 12" version of Golden Brown is not included. This would be very welcome as my oringinal vinyl copy of Golden Brown is rather worn and my record player is now scrap.

This album is a nostalgic journey back into the 1980s. The Stranglers' alternative post punk sound makes a welcome change from the electro pop of that decade.

The Stranglers were always good value in the Eighties for their 12" mixes - always something a little different - well made and on the whole, interesting.

This solid little collection came out a while ago and is long overdue for a re-release. The tracks (all from the Epic era) were as follows:

1 . Midnight Summer Dream
2 . Skin Deep
3. No Mercy
4. Let Me Down Easy
5. Nice in Nice
6. Always the Sun
7. Big in America
8. Shakin' Like a Leaf
9. All Day and All of the Night
10. Was It You
11. 96 Tears

This was originally only released on tape, so was very excited about this c.d. Wasn't disappointed as I had forgotten how wonderful it was.
