Quite possibly the best live album you never heard!I bought this the day it came out,a pricey Jap Import,£25 quid if my memory is correct, never regretted it,a simply superb disc.
Glenn hughes puts in as fine a performance live as he has ever done, thankfully the overblown histrionics of the Purple days are left in the closet. What you get is a consumate performance from Hughes with a superb band, three of whom were actually members of EUROPE.
Naturally the Purple back catalog is mined, with a stunning quartet from the underrated 'Come Taste The Band' disc with 'Gettin Tighter' and 'You Keep On Moving' particularly impressive whilst his two previous Purple Albums have there title tracks performed to perfection, throw in a stunning 'Lady Double Dealer' and you can die happy.
But there is more three tracks performed superbly from the HUGHES/THRALL album, the crowd reaction to these on par with that of the Purple tracks,'Muscle and Blood' was made for the live arena as was 'Got Your Number' where the crowd go into overdrive. The Trapeze era acknowledged by 'Coast To Coast' another lost classic
The remainder of the disc is made up of solo tracks with the impressive class of 'From Now On' & 'Still In Love With You' highlighting that when the man sings and dispenses with all the screeching he's done in the past,he's a superb singer.
A fantastic live disc that you'll never see listed in the all time great lists, buy it now, you'll realise what everyone's been missing.Absolute class.
I really can't find anything to fault this album. Probably the only disapointment is Huges' is not playing bass. Nothing wrong with the superb John Leven, I just find Hughes' live bass playing adds a whole lot of what I call funk 'n' feel. I simply can't mark this CD down a star for that though. Plenty for solo fans and purple fans alike there is simply not a bad song on here or their interpretation by Glenns' band, at times they leave you breathless. The Purps and Hughes himself are huge in Japan and the 12th man (the crowd) keep the band on the boil and pumping, and Huges' vocals are faultless. Superb.

This could one of the best live cd's you will hear. The vocals are nothing short of amazing. The song selection is fantastic the Purple numbers are wonderful especially "You Keep On Moving","This Time Around" and "Getting Tighter". If you like Purple and Glenn Hughes then buy this CD, if you are new to Glenn Hughes then buy it. If you like good bluesy funky rock then buy it. All in all just buy it.

this CD is an absolute must for any fan of the deep purple legacy.
tracks like burn, this time around/owed to G,you keep on moving are a real tribute to purple mark 3 and to the talents of the late tommy bolin of purple mark 4.
song like coast to coast and got your number are awsome pieces of music from the post purple era of glenns work.
listening to this begs the question 'just who had/has the best voice in deep purple?

Fantastic live album. Some great songs and a great performance. Only 4 stars as, personally, it would of been even better to of had one or two other song choices included - but that's just me. Doesn't detract from an overall brilliant album. I must get to see this guy before he retires!
A very good performance but the CD version has 15 songs:
3. Muscle And Blood
4. Lay My Body Down
5. From Now On
6. Into The Void
7. Still In Love With You
8. Coast To Coast
9. This Time Around
10. Owed To G
11. Gettin Tighter
12. You Keep On Moving
13. Lady Double Dealer
14. I Got Your Number
While the mp3 version only has 11.
Since there is no time restriction on mp3 downloads, I find it irritating that four of the songs have been taken from the mp3 version. The missing songs are From Now On, Still In Love With You, This Time Around and You Keep On Moving.
The two from Come Taste The Band are particularly missed.
