Great bands release great debut albums and Skin's debut is no exception to the rule. From the killer opener 'Money' to teh soulfull closer 'Wings of an Angel', the quality never lets up. The rhythm section of Andy Robbins (bass) and Dicki Fliszar (drums) combine to form a solid base for Myke Gray's versatile guitar work. Over all this is Nev MacDonald's bluesy, soulfull voice that wrings every drop of emotion from the great songs like 'Shine Your Light', 'Colourblind' and 'Which are the Tears'. All ofthe elements shine under the professional sheen provided by Keith Olsen's production which never dilutes the underlying strength and power of the band.
Highlights? The album is a highlight in itself but, if forced to choose, it would have to be the powerhouse rendition of 'House of Love', the good-time singalong of 'Look But Don't Touch' and the sublime 'Tower of Strength'.
Skin's debut is certainly up there with 'Rock the Nation' by Montrose, Iron Maiden's eponymous first album and marillion's 'Script For a Jester's Tear' as one of the all time great debut albums.

I purchased this album when it was first released. I remember seeing the band play at Castle Donington 1994, they were simply amazing. Back to the album... This is one of the greatest rock debuts you will hear. The album does not really have a highlight as it is all one big highlight. Track after track of great music will great your ears when you play it. This album has been very hard to get at a good price since its release and the bonus tracks even harder. Now people who were not old enough to remember Skin can finally find out just how could they could be.

Have been looking for this album for years, really hard to get a hold of in the UK...
Some fantastic tracks inc Tower of Strength.
The genre is really soft rock, like early Whitesnake but without the drive.
All in all a good album, happy to give it 4 stars...

This album is a re-mastered version of the 1994 CD. I had one of the tracks on a compilation and decided to get the album on the strength of that one track.....I am so glad I did.

All eighteen tracks have something for everyone; the only two weak tracks are two covers in the middle. It's a combination of Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Def Leppard and The Black Crows.....if you like these groups just go out and buy this album. The lead singer has a great voice, backed up by the rest of the band.

Buy it - you won't be disappointed.

Only came across these reviews as looking for artwork for album. Have seen this band live a few times (years ago!)and this CD does them justice!!

Skin were a brilliant band, a real shame they had to split up. If you like Whitesnake but just a little bit softer then this is for you!!!

Highlights: House of love and (for a real sing along) Look But Don't Touch.

This is an awesome debut album by an absolutely fantastic live band. A band that has great passion. Neville MacDonald has a strong voice and holds his notes, the rest of the band Myke Gray, Dicki Fliszar and Andy Robbins rock your socks off. Would recommend this album for any rock fan!!
