5.0 out of 5 stars An upplifting and powerful piece of music.
Miss Sarajevo really touched me. I understand this song was written about a documentary film. I have not seen this, but the combination of Modern, (U2), and Classical, (Pavarotti) music made the images come alive in my head. A truely powerful piece of work. You could feel the determination of the people in the former Yugoslavia during their time of trouble.

2.0 out of 5 stars Economizing on Pavarotti?
I bought this single having seen Miss Sarajevo being performed on a BBC documentary about the work of Brian Eno. The live performance at Medina featured three solo contributions by Luciano Pavarotti which were absolutely thrilling and lifted the production to an inspired level. So when I played the CD and heard only one Pavarotti solo - plus two other lack-lustre tracks I...

Comes a time when you just gotta sit back a have your faith in mankind reaffirmed.
Comes a time when a bunch of folk come together and transend sound and vision, create something truly unique and original.
Something that touches your soul;
makes love your goal.
A lesson in the need to be caring and sharing.
Making some good outta the bad.
Making some right outta a lot of wrong.
A lesson in love.

Maybe the Beatles started it with 'All You Need is Love' their '67 global satellite link.
And then George Harrison with the concert for Bangladesh.
Maybe Johnny Cash with 'Hurt' which was singularly life affirming.

U2, Pavarotti, Eno, Linnane and Carter - 'Miss Sarajevo' sure is another...
..and I'm sure you will have others - more of your own.
Whatever - However you just gotta take this one onboard.

And if you wanna know more about how this came together - you could do a lot worse than visit the 'Miss Sarajevo' Wikipedia page.
