This album was recorded mostly by Jeff Waters and has a few people guesting on vocals and some instrumentation. It is one of my favourite Annihilator albums because it is very focussed and it has some weird quirks. Jeff Waters' vocals are surprisingly good and I like the sinister way he delivers the lines. Guitarwise this album is as good as any of the other Annihilator albums and the programming is almost industrial in nature, adding a new facet to the Annihilator sound. The lead breaks are beautiful and perfectly executed, they are also weird and quirky. The lyrical stance seems to gravitate towards social darkness and deviance which adds to the dark mood of the album. There is also a dark sense of humour underlining the lyrics which make me crack an evil grin as it appeals to my own sense of humour. When I listen to this album I have to wonder if Jeff was listening to bands like Skrew or Ministry at the time of it's making. The album has a tightness and togetherness that is unique to it and has smatterings of Jazz bass lines and wierd timing signatures. This album is for those who enjoy music that breaks down boundaries and tries new things. "Remains" it not a straight forward thrash album but a hybrid of many music types that blend perfectly. If you are musically adventurous this album is definately for you.Remains
