This is the best album I'd never heard of, by a German band I knew nothing about. Thankfully I stumbled across a few of Fool's Garden songs via Spotify, and bought this, their debut from 1991, and what a great album it is. I'm a huge fan of Britpop, and 'Dish of the Day' sits comfortably between my Oasis and Blur albums.
The hit 'Lemon Tree' will lift your spirits, whilst other stand outs include 'Take Me', 'The Tocsin' and 'Wild Days' are there to keep you're mood onto a high. The tracks on 'Dish of the Day' are very singable and addictive, and I plan to listen to Fool's Garden's other releases soon. On the evidence of this little upbeat album, I have a lot of quirky, well-written music to discover.

If you like Lemon Tree, go on... get the whole album. Beatles, Queen and Rolling Stones influences crash together into a wonderfully cohesive album with no weak tracks (IMHO). I have no idea why this album hasn't been lauded as an all-time classic. It certainly should be!
