5.0 out of 5 stars Cher! Cher! CHER!!, 28 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Casablanca Years (Audio CD)
This double album collection on one CD is the best bargain I have had in an age. I love every track. It's cheesey seventies disco, but so what? Cher's voice means that every track is classic particularly Take Me Home, which was covered by Sophie Ellis Bextor a few years ago ( Cher does it better). Some parts of this album have elements of that strange mix of rock and disco best done by Donna Summer, but Cher does it well too. There is no need for a track by track review, but this CD, especially if you are a confirmed Cher fan

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 70s music, 3 Oct. 2000
This review is from: The Casablanca Years (Audio CD)
This album is brilliant. It contains two albums (prisoner and take me home) which were her two main albums of the late 70's disco era with Casablanca records. The title song Take me home, tells a story. It is a very catchy song with a strong disco beat but it does go on for about 6 or 7 minutes which after a while becomes aggitaing but then the song returns to the start and is great again. The rest of the songs are good. One is actually WRITTEN by cher. It is called Too far gone and is vey emotional. Prisoner is just as fun as take me home. The title track is the funkiest and holding out for love and Outrageous are also very good. This album is an essential for all people no matter if you like Cher or not!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Casablanca Years, 6 Jan. 2013

I purchased this CD for a relative for Christmas. She said that the CD is good, but the music is slightly dated because it is a 'Disco' CD. Enjoyable never the less. Thank you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great stomping disco classics..., 18 Feb. 2007
This review is from: The Casablanca Years (Audio CD)
If you love disco you'll love this album! Cher's signature vocals graced both these classic Casablanca albums (Take Me Home & Prisoner) from 1979. 'Take Me Home' was the better LP in my opinion - best cuts are the title track, 'Wasn't It Good' and the power ballad 'Love & Pain'. 'Prisoner' is also a great track and 'Shopping' is just hilarious with appropriate cash till sound effects as a bonus.
