5.0 out of 5 stars Unsung Heroes
The Housemartins are the most underrated band of their time. Eclipsed in many ways by subsequent successes (as The Beautiful South and Fatboy Slim), they have never gained the recognition they deserved. This is the ultimate album of their finest moments - from the anthemic "Happy Hour" to less well known songs such as "Step Outside". Many of the riffs and harmonies have...

There is another newer 'best of' compilation available for The Housemartins, but this one contains virtually all the songs on the newer one plus about another 12 songs. I don't normally go for best of compilations, but am really happy I did with this one as the selection is great.

4.0 out of 5 stars now that is quite good, 10 Jan 2014
This review is from: Now That's What I Call Quite Good (Audio CD)
Used to have years ago on cassette and then upgraded to cd ....
Caravan of Love was Number 1 and almost became a christmas number 1 but was knocked of the top on Christmas week and Happy Hour will always be their best remembered Single and what a great video it is too.
five get over excited is another great single and think for a minute is a decent single release too along with their two earlier flop singles Flag Day and the brilliant Sheep.
Album opens up with I Smell Winter which is a great track and I also like the track Me and the Farmer and The People who grinned Themselves to Death which sounds more like a title you expect the Smiths to come up with...unfortunately my favourite album track (sitting on a fence) is not on this compilation otherwise I would give it 5 stars but this best of cd is just under 80 minutes long and Now Thats What I Call Quite Good Value
