5.0 out of 5 stars You Can Never Have Too Much Dub!!, 4 Feb. 2006

As any connoisseur of dub will testify, after a while it can all start to sound a little, well, samey. That's not to say it's bad, just that the profusion of compilations means that the same tracks tend to get trotted out and so your ears get a little used to the pneumatic sounds. Which is why Termination Dub was such a thrill! I think I may have heard one track on a Blood & Fire sampler a few years back, but this stuff is fantastically fresh. King Tubby really excelled himself across this collection. Even though it takes in six years, there is a consistency of sound and mood - as opposed to repetition - with plenty of phasing, echo, vocal drops and horns; the swampy sound is such that you can almost smell the callie. Anyone who feels they have heard it all and seen it all with dub, or at the very least thinks they've got all the King Tubby they'll ever need, would be recommended to get this. I'd also say that it's a decent place for a beginner investigating the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heavy heavy sound, 14 Aug. 2012

I like my dub pretty 'out-there' and this fits the bill 100%. King Tubby wrings every drop of weirdness out of his mixing desk on this fantastic album.

One of the heaviest, freakiest, best dub albums I own.

If you like this I'd also really recommend 'Dub me' by Morwell Unlimited meets King Tubby - the only heavier thing I've heard from this period.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mastering fault?, 7 Jan. 2014
This review is from: Termination Dub (1973-79) (Audio CD)
The dub mixes on this cd are amazing but there appears to be a potential mastering problem with it. Some tracks start with what sounds like an LP record scratching a short period of time before the song starts again. Two copies played both exhibit the same 'fault'. Is this an intended part of the mix or a mastering error? Any ideas?

What you have here is Glen Brown produced tracks revamped by the Dub Master. Just like eating mums rice/peas/chicken on sunday washed down with a cold strong rum punch - HEAVEN!!
I was fortunate to purchase the 2 Glen Brown and friends cd's and then got this CD.
As per usual with Tubbs at the control, outstanding and a major must have for any DUB FANATIC.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, 22 Sept. 2005
I had this on CD a while ago before i lost it - its a hard one to find these days.
Glen Brown adds a lot of tune to King Tubbys heavywqeight dub style, in my opinion amongst one of the best collaborations
